Abstract

We present our technique for propagation of Maui peperomia (Peperomia mauiensis Wawra [Piperaceae]) from whole leaf cuttings. High percentage rooting (>97.5%) was observed under subirrigated media and indoor lighted conditions. Application of 3000 ppm indole-3-butyric acid significantly increased root number and total root length. Plantlets, 2.5 to 4 cm diameter, can be generated from whole leaf cuttings 3.5 mo after rooting.
